There is an option of on-demand examinations. In contrast, the 10th class exam which is also conducted at a state levels by the local boards of education and at national level by the Central Board of Secondary Education and in India this exam is known under the designation of SSC exam. There are a total of six subjects for the HSC examination that differ in each State Board but common in the case of Central Board of Secondary Education

Pakistan

The Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Also known as Intermediate It is an open exam that is taken by learners of Higher Secondary High School, also known as Intermediate college (Junior college) in Pakistan. After passing Matriculation in Grade nine and 10, students are then admitted to into an intermediate college and complete the grades 11 and 12. After completing each of the two grades, they take standardized tests in their academic subjects. These tests are conducted to provincial board members at the provincial level , and also by the FBISE at the federal level. After passing these examinations, students are awarded an Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC). This level of e ducation is also known as the FSc/FA/ICS. There are a variety of streams that students have the option of choosing for their 11 or 12th grade, such as pre-medical, pre-engineering the sciences (or the social sciences) computer science, and commerce. Each stream is comprised of three electives and along with three mandatory subjects, which include English, Urdu, Islamiyat (grade 11 only) and Pakistan Studies (grade 12 only).

Nepal

National Examination Board (Nepal) is in charge of organizing and managing all examinations for seniors which include the 11th and 12th grade Higher Secondary exams (10+2) 10th grade SEE Examination, as well as the 8th grades District Level Examination. Once a student has passed the Higher Secondary Examinations an applicant will be eligible to enter the university.

Apart from National higher secondary examination, Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) GCE Advanced Level qualifications (known as A-level) is available at some of the public, private or international school. A level is considered comparable in comparison to the National secondary school (10+2) examination.
